Today on The Review:
NFT-enabled experiences via Ticketmaster
Investing into Communities
Creating a Purposeful Life
šļøTicketmaster supports NFTs?
Token-gating is nothing new, but in the mainstream entertainment industry with Ticketmaster who holds a powerful position in the music & events space, theyāre revolutionary in introducing an NFT-enabled technology to prioritize fans over ticket scalpers.
This was launched in anticipation of Avenged Sevenfoldās upcoming tour with the Deathbats Club, the bandās official NFT collection. This bandās Web3 community has been alive since 2021, selling tickets to almost 20% of 10,000 strong bought tickets via the wallet integration & Ticketmaster shared on the results:
"There are a variety of ways it could be used, from unlocking premier seats to special experiences like sitting in on soundcheck." Ticketmaster told Decrypt Media
Ticketmaster is a monster of a company, holding a strong position in the live event ticketing market with a market capitalization upwards of $26 billion. The company boasts a HEFTY userbase of 115.9 million MAU (monthly active users) with many offerings of products and services, including ticketing tech, their ticketing marketplace for sales and resales, marketing & venues via parent company LiveNation.
These Web3 integrations into the entertainment industry are not few & far between, even on Solana. In this capacity, Tick3tTree has been around the block, providing event & ticketing solutions through their platform. Their drive in this early Web3 side of the industry & Ticketmasterās own ventures with Avenge Sevenfoldās tour only give me more hope for the future.
šHow to Find Your Community in NFT Projects
For a while I bounced around NFTs & invested in many rugs but have also found many communities to take part in & grow alongside. In the Web3 space & especially NFTs, there is inherent risk in its infant & volatile industry. Many founders come into the space as inexperienced or incapable, so spending time doing the legwork & research before spending money to invest is VITAL.
This is Iāve learned since about NFT communities since entering the market in 2021:
ā Find people or projects that inspire you and are accomplishing something you relate to
Befriending these folks and spending time with them can help you understand what it takes to execute on your goals and help you identify projects that align with your interests and values.
ā Once you have inspiration, look out from these project teams & see who EXECUTES on the project goals effectively
These individuals can serve as valuable mentors, providing guidance and support as you pursue your own projects. Gravitate towards these doers.
Study their moves. You can find deeper understanding of what it takes to achieve success and apply those lessons to your own work.
ā Now be a pessimist, find out what the CONS
While finding inspiration in others and gravitating towards effective go-getters can help you identify potential projects, it's important to DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH.
Consider the best-case & worst-case of the project, the resources necessary to bring it to life, and the potential impact it could have.
If you see yourself playing a role in that vision, GET INVOLVED in the community! Volunteer time or apply for positions in communities YOU like. This is where youāll build connections, learn more & even find inside knowledge around the industry.
Great examples of these projects:
DeGods, DeMigrating to ETH & now reaching 800SOL/9ETH FP after dumping to single-digits in SOL early last year, strong support around Frank & his team
GhostKidDAO, beginning from a $3 mint & built the R2E meta on Solana, branching out into Anon, their second collection. Great community since the start
Claynosaurz, a stacked VFX team with high quality 3D animations & a brilliantly-planned ecosystem
š3 Steps for Planning with Purpose
When it comes to life, purpose is among the most difficult to find. Many purposes are GIVEN, rather than CREATED, through capitalists, through preachers, through influencers.
Many purposes arenāt crafted for the individual, for YOU.
So how do you find that?
1ļøā£ Take some time off Twitter, off TikTok & away from others. Reflect on what you ACTUALLY want out of life.
Consider the necessities, sure, but focus on & highlight your passions, values, and ambitions. Identify the goals that will bring you the most fulfillment and satisfaction, make these long-term pillars to work at rather than one-and-done goals.
Planning with purpose requires a clear vision of what you want, followed by taking action towards achieving your goals. Remember too that self-doubt will be a significant obstacle to success.
2ļøā£ Once you have a clear understanding of what you want, whatās next is to take action and EXECUTE!
Break your goals down into actionable steps, develop a plan. It may require making some difficult choices and sacrifices along the way, such as changing habits or adapting your current life to be aligned with your purpose.
If you don't believe in yourself, it's likely others wonāt either. It's essential to develop confidence in your own abilities, I personally struggle in this department.
3ļøā£ Create a SUPPORT SYSTEM of friends & mentors who are invested in your success.
Especially highlighted earlier, itās hard to chalk out a path without direction or clear steps. This can be made easy with MENTORS who have literally walked-the-walk before.
Making friends & meeting colleagues can be beneficial, nurturing your growth & giving you perspective
Of course, all of this is easier said than done, and it's natural to experience self-doubt from time to time. Analysis paralysis can take hold in these doubts, delaying progress through anxiety. I struggle here a lot - the imposter syndrome sets in or self-sabotage my progress in an effort to relieve the pressure.
Itās important focusing on building self-confidence by setting achievable goals, celebrating the successes, and learning from the mistakes.
I am working on building a support system by networking with people who believe in myself and are willing to encourage me when I need it most.
If youāre interested, I encourage you to reach out & join me as with a strong sense of self-belief and a clear purpose in mind, we can achieve great things.
