We’re back on The Review for another look at Web3’s developments in the past week & what tickled the interests, from NFT LA’s aftermath to the y00ts migrating to Polygon, ARB airdrop & rumblings on what’s coming after DeGods leave SOL before some realizations I’ve found on leadership.

Leadership Changes
📈Influencer P&D or Onboarding IRL?
One of the more prominent projects in recent Solana NFTs is Claynosaurz: the 3D dinosaurs made of clay brought to life by a high-caliber team of blockbuster film VFX designers. Adventure awaits for holders, who’ve seen airdrops of clay & claymakers, IRL airdrops of Sardinhas, Tacos & Croissants at Hacker House Portugal, NFT LA & NFT Paris.
The way they’ve incorporated these airdrops into the story of Claynosaurz creates a new mechanism for upgrading your NFTs: Food.
Now, is this a Conference P&D scheme utilizing influencers & interested investors to pump the project? Let’s take a look at the project’s Analytics & also the oldest IRL NFT airdropped prior to the mint (Sardinhas) for general sentiment:
I’ve marked the IRL events on these charts in BLUE (NFT Paris - Feb 24th/25th & NFT LA - March 20th-23rd), while Sardinhas was the start, airdropped Nov 2nd, where I’ve marked Clayno mint in RED (Nov 26th):
From the first chart, we can see a MAJOR shift in sentiment as Paris wrapped up & leading up into NFT LA. With the social response to the event being generally positive feedback, I can expect there to only be more of the same.
Consistent planning from the Claynosaurz team and the support of airdrops holding near to the main collection or higher.
While I am heavily regretting my early exit to the project, I’m confident that Claynosaurz has another run-up incoming into NYC’s event in mid-April.
The only speck on that shiny conclusion is the “Underwater Loans” narrative from those looking for entries:
This story was pushed over the end of the weekend in light of Monkey Baby Business’ loans tracker’s release.
With 350+ loans underwater, many saw this as a bearish indicator for the project’s near term FP as liquidations loomed. Essentially, a majority of loans were on the edge of “underwater” status, and a couple sweeps above 65SOL seemed to null out the worries.
If you bought into this rumor, check Doctor’s thread above to understand more, but myth has been squashed.
🚚m00ving time
The move is expected to start on March 27th with all of Web3 in anticipation for this once-in-an-era event of a SOLANA-born collection bridging as a group to another chain, with Polygon first & Ethereum after.
So what does this mean for holders & onlookers in the DeGods/y00ts ecosystems?
DEPRECIATION! No, but kind of seriously:
The PHBT was an early concept from Frank & the DeGods collection. I’ve actually written about it in my FIRST web3 newsletter over 1.5 years ago! It’s very fitting that it’s returning to sunset the projects on Solana, but that’s not to say there’s nothing for bridgers.
Bridging to Polygon means benefits for the early, providing some surprises for those looking to take the first steps, even a BitGod airdrop to one of the first 24HR bridgers.
With this move away from the chain it minted on, the team are shifting their interest on SOL to punch upwards towards new investors & opportunities on ETH & MATIC, Frank himself is going on to lead in new spaces.
This leaves a gap of a leader in the Solana ecosystem, so which project will take the crown & bring a new leader up in this absence?
👑Will YOU lead?
Leadership is a foundational skill to have, in the Web3 space but in life as well. We’ve seen what a well-equipped leader can do in NFTs, having not only a vision & execution behind it but also the capacity to pivot when called to.
Quality leaders can push a project into the right direction as they have the platform to rally the troops, but weak leaders fall short in some or many ways. These failures are KNOWN, even if they are not discussed.
In this last week, I’ve found questions of my own leadership.
In ScarfDAO. In my advisory.
In my work.
Even in my own life.
Leading requires direction.
Direction requires some pre-conceived notion of where to go or what to do.
Transitorily, we can see that leadership requires planning, which is a skill I’ve recognized in myself lacking & have taken the first steps to make more structure for myself.
To continue this, I plan to introduce this is by time scheduling my work to limit my workaholicism and control my doom scrolling habits with some app on my phone.
Stay tuned but in the meantime, here’s the weekly quote:
“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.”
